Terms of Service
You had to know there’d be a catch.
Last updated: June 2026
Agreement
By using Mind the Gap, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, the exit is clearly marked and there is no penalty for leaving. Unlike the Underground at rush hour.
What this service is
Mind the Gap is an informational website that displays London transport data sourced from the TfL Open Data API. It is provided for general information purposes only. It is not operated by, affiliated with, endorsed by, or in any way associated with Transport for London.
The service is provided free of charge. There are no subscriptions, accounts, or fees.
Data accuracy
All service status updates, journey times, fare information, and timetable data are fetched in real time (or near-real time) from TfL’s API. We display it as received. We do not alter, interpret, or guarantee it.
TfL’s data is occasionally wrong, delayed, or incomplete. If the Jubilee line says Good Service and you are standing on a stationary train in a tunnel, we are as confused as you are.
Do not use this site as your sole source for time-critical journey decisions. If missing a train matters, check TfL’s own services directly.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Mind the Gap and its operators shall not be liable for any loss, delay, missed connection, argument with a bus driver, or other consequence arising from your use of this site or reliance on its data.
We are not responsible for: tube delays, bus cancellations, signal failures, leaves on the line, the wrong kind of snow, or any other occurrence that TfL will attribute to “congestion” without further explanation.
Acceptable use
You may use this site for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not scrape it at scale, attempt to disrupt it, or do anything that would make us wish we had never built it. High-volume automated requests should go directly to the TfL API.
Intellectual property
TfL data is used under the TfL Open Data licence. The site’s design, copy, and code are the property of Mind the Gap. TfL branding, line colours, and the roundel are trademarks of Transport for London. We use line colours for informational identification only.
Changes to these terms
We reserve the right to update these terms. Continued use of the site following any changes constitutes acceptance. We will update the date at the top of this page when we do.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. Which, given the current state of London transport, seems appropriate.
